Meet Karissa Curtis, MA, LPC, CST
As a licensed professional counselor and certified sex therapist, I am passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate the complex and sensitive issues related to sexuality and intimacy.
I am particularly dedicated to helping women suffering from sexual pain find healing and freedom in their sexual lives. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where women can reclaim their sexuality and where couples can explore and address their concerns with openness, curiosity, and hope. You can enjoy a fulfilling sex life—let me help you get there.
I am known for my compassionate yet direct approach to therapy, and I am committed to helping clients establish healthy boundaries and effective communication in their relationships—both inside and outside the bedroom. Drawing from my training in EMDR, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy, Brainspotting, Trust-Based Relational Intervention, and other evidence-based modalities, I provide a comprehensive and integrative approach to therapy that meets the unique needs of each client. I also utilize Systems Theory, Parts work, The Eight Feelings, and the Enneagram to help clients deepen their emotional awareness and gain deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
My inspiration is drawn from many sources, including the kindness and compassion of Fred Rogers and the curiosity and humor of Ted Lasso. I believe these values are essential in creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which people can be vulnerable to open themselves up to heal, and I am committed to incorporating these values into my counseling practice.
I am also influenced by the works of Henri Nouwen, C.S. Lewis, Frederick Buechner, Brennan Manning, and Brene Brown, which inform my understanding of the human experience and help guide my work as a wounded healer. These writers have challenged me to be authentic, embrace vulnerability, and pursue personal growth and healing.
If you're looking for a compassionate and experienced therapist who can help you navigate issues related to sexuality, intimacy, and emotional wellbeing, I would be honored to be part of your journey.
